Milngavie Golf Club in Loch Lomond
Founded in 1895 on its present site at the juncture of the Highlands and the Lowlands, Milngavie Golf Club lies in secluded woodlands yet is only 7 miles from Glasgow city centre. Players enjoy magnificent vistas from Ben Lomond to the north and much of Central Scotland to the east.
Designed by Willie and Laurie Auchterlonie of St Andrews it also boasts features added later by James Braid. Its 5818 yards and par of 68 belie a most challenging layout which puts a premium on accuracy off the tee. For very many years it has enjoyed the reputation of having the finest greens in the county. A very large putting green and two practice areas complement the course. Visitors, who are welcome by introduction or prior arrangement, may use the full range of facilities available.
